This painting has been in the making for quite some time. I started the base layer with watercolor and gouache way back in April 2021. It sat untouched since. I wasn't quite inspired to finish it, but I knew it's time would come back around eventually. Then last month I dusted off my acrylics and wasn't confident enough to jump to canvas just yet. With the base layer started I didn't there was no "fear to blank page" and now it's everything it was meant to be.

It has been a minute since our last wallpaper release, but big changes have been happening over the past few months as we prepare to welcome our first baby in early March!!! Yay all the feels haha, but it felt so great taking some time over the holidays to unwind and get back into the studio. Cheers and Happy New Year!

I've been missing the coast so much, the sand between my toes, watching the tide roll in. This months wallpaper is named surf and sand. At the same time it reminds me of sunny days and ocean currents with a green haze, pure aqua, warm yellow sunbeam, coral, a hint of red earth and streaks of bright pink, all on a field of pale sea foam green and toasted coconut.

I've had my head down and nose to the grindstone but I'm happy to be back with a July wallpaper alive with pink sand, sea foam green, coral, clay, warm yellow sunbeam, and a touch of emerald green.

It's a pastel kind of month. Head into spring with some fresh mint, lavender, powder blue, sage, caramel, and butterscotch. Hmmm I'm seeing an unintentional mini Cadbury egg vibe happening here hahaha. Happy April, happy downloading!

As long as the sun is shining, I think I can tackle whatever March throws at us...maybe...poooossibly.* At least this month's wallpaper packs a vibrant punch with layers of bright marigold, saffron, hibiscus pink and olive green, topped with my favorite, light sage.

I'm using my 100 day project to experiment with different color palettes in watercolor and gouache. Keeping a daily practice is hard y'all, but you can follow my progress on instagram. Ultimately I'd love to start work larger and on raw canvas so I'm building up my confidence with smaller studies and stockpiling some new materials.

Starting the year off with some of my favorite colors, why not. I'm also leveling up on my materials and coming around to painting larger on raw canvas (yikes). To settle my nerves a bit I've decided to embarking on at 100 day project of mini color studies to help me prepare. Stay tuned and follow along on instagram. Exciting stuff, 2021 please don't kill my spirits haha. Happy New Year everyone!

I'm so ready for Fall! Even though it's still +90 degrees here in Austin I've already finished two knitting projects lol. You can take the girl out of New England, but you can't take New England out of the girl. The candle making and embroidery supplies have been ordered and I'm dreaming up new ways of making the house extra cozy this coming holiday season. Lockdown would be a crafter's dream, keeping busy at home with no FOMO…IF it weren't for the whole world coming apart at the seams and all. Anyway I've been obsessing over this color palette for a while now so I thought I give it a try for this month's download. Happy Fall y'all!

Can you tell I'm still dreaming of ocean waves and sandy beaches over here?! I don't typically use a lot of blues in my paintings, but this watercolor just conjures up a cool blue lagoon and I couldn't resist. Give your tech an end of summer refresh. If you're looking to spruce up your walls and keep summer alive a little longer, also check out my limited edition art prints Pink Tide and Endless Summer on Minted.com.

Inspired by the blue-domed churches and pastel facades of Northern Santorini, I'm channeling all the summer vibes for this month's wallpaper. Cue up the "relaxing beach sounds", ice-cold Arnold Palmers, hammock, and inflatable pool haha. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. I hope everyone is finding safe and creative ways to jump-start their summer! What far off destinations are you dreaming of?

With so much out of our control, it's through mindfulness that we find we have more reasons to be happy than we thought. But who can be at peace in a time like this? On my best days, I've struggled with the same question and my own guilt. Causing ourselves to suffer needlessly, however, will not improve the suffering of others. Coping doesn't mean we are apathetic, or that we don't understand the gravity of our situation. Coping means we are equipped to provide support to our loved ones, friends, neighbors, community. It means that we've found gratitude in the present moment and aren't worried about future moments. If today, this moment right now is the only thing we have control over, then influence it with a smile. This is as much a reminder for me as anyone else. It took all the creative energy I could muster to paint this month's wallpaper, but I'm glad I did. I hope it brightens up your space and maybe even your day. If you need a reason to smile — Quokkas — look them up. You won't be able to resist! Stay safe and be well my friends.
